About Us

We are a Catholic, homeschooling family of 7.

This is the family I always dreamed of, and yet I can't believe I have five children! :) Let's start with the youngest, who usually gets put last.

All names of the children are taken from one of their favorite books, "The Penderwicks".

"Jeffrey" was born in Sept 2007, and as of this writing has just turned a year old. He is so much fun, and it's amazing to see him learn new things every day. His smiles can melt the hardest heart and he has admirers wherever he goes, as well as 4 older sisters to smother I mean mother him.

"Batty" is 3 and is a live wire! She is Jeffrey's biggest fan. She loves to dress up in her sisters' old ballet outfits and play Polly Pockets. Mostly, she wants to be doing whatever her sisters are.

"Jane" is 5. She is smart, gentle, kind, and a true joy to parent. She loves Polly Pockets, dress ups, reading books and learning new things. Jane has multiple food allergies, asthma, and eczema, but things look under control right now.

"Skye" is 8. Also smart, she LOVES books and would spend all day reading or on the computer if I let her. She also enjoys writing stories, and is quite talented for a third grader if I do say so myself. Skye has a unilateral (one sided) moderate hearing loss, and has a hearing aid she rarely wears. I think she likes having the excuse that "I didn't hear you, Mom." ;-)

"Rosalind," our oldest, is 10. She is extroverted to the extreme. A right brained learner, she struggles in school but is super creative. Like her younger sister she suffers from severe food allergies and Rosalind also has alopecia areata. At any given moment she is typically 50% or more bald. She usually keeps her head shaved and is quite beautiful that way. :) The way she handles having alopecia is awe inspiring.

"St. DH" is my dear husband. What can I say? He is wonderful. We joke that together we make one perfect person, since we are opposite in many ways. He is a hard working, smart, engineering type (think Dilbert, but cute). :)

Me? I'm just Amy. Amyable around the internet (get it, amiable? At least I try to be). I love homeschooling. I dabble in other things, like crafts, but don't have any ONE thing I love to do except read, mostly non-fiction. I love to learn about homeschooling, parenting, Catholicism (especially apologetics), neurology, learning disabilities, brain injury, web design, nature, and whatever else we need to know about at the moment!
