And here I was thinking I was just a big wimp

Many in my corner of the blogosphere are talking about, and taking, the Freeze Yer Buns Challenge.

I've been thinking there is no way I could do that. Despite the fact that our thermostat is set to a toasty 72 degrees, I am freezing 1/2 the night and most of the morning. I definitely thought there was something wrong with me, though, that I couldn't handle 71 degrees! I mean, why can I be OK in a T-shirt on a cool summer day, yet the same apparent temperature in my house in winter has me running for slippers and two quilts?

It turns out the temperature the house is set at, and the temperature the house actually IS, are two totally different things! Thanks to my MIL, we now have a handy dandy indoor/outdoor thermometer.

The reason I'm so cold, is that when the house is set at 72, it gets as cold as 65 degrees in our kitchen, one of the *warmer* rooms in the house in winter. If it's 65in the kitchen, I shudder (literally) to find out how cold it is downstairs, where it always feels decidedly colder.

Guess I'm doing my part to freeze my buns afterall. :)
