My theme this year is "I get to!"
So often during the day I find my self thinking things like, "Sigh, I have to change the laundry over again."
"Ack, does he really need another diaper already? I just changed him! Twice!"
"Why do these little people need to eat all day long?"
Now, I'm not (necessarily) grumpy faced or grumbling out loud. Just...just a touch exasperated.
But *I get to do* all this.
I get to wash my family's clothes. In a washing machine and electric dryer, no less!
I get to stay home and teach my children. I always wanted to be some kind of teacher!
I get to work with my oldest with learning difficulties, and my second with a hearing loss. I've always wanted to work with children with special needs.
I get to calm a tantrum, or make healthy food for lunch, or change the 15th diaper of the morning, because a good and gracious and oh so very generous God has placed me here with my five blessings, and a fantastic husband, a roof over my head.
Try putting "I get to" on top of your to do list, and see how much better it feels! :)
I love this!
ReplyDeleteIt's so true--everything I'm tempted to complain about either genuinely is, or is directly the result of, amazing blessings in my life.
And I "get to" experience them every day!
Thanks, this will really help me keep my head on straight! :)
Warmly,
Eileen
Amy, this is perfect! :)
