I found and fell in love with this blog: Happy Hearts Homeschooling Library a few months back, but got frustrated with it because I had no good way to organize the great resources she was posting.
Enter a post on the Well Trained Mind message boards, and I am introduced to Google Library! (this links to my own personal library, in progress) Demented and Sad thing that I am, the discovery of this resource made my day. Now, I knew about Google Books, but I didn't realize that if you have a Google account, you can save and organize any number of Google Books texts into your own personal library! (This deserves more exclamation points - !!!!! I am really that excited!) ;-)
You can add tags, import books or export your library, rate the books, add other library users as "friends" to keep track of their libraries, subscribe to their RSS feeds to see when they have added more books, and even search in your own (or a friends') library. And I'm sure many more things I'm not aware of - as usual I'm guilty of jumping in blindly without reading instructions. ;-)
As a person who is trying to radically declutter, having *organized* access to full texts of books we want to use, but not necessarily KEEP, is golden.
I hope this WFMWOT (Works For Me Wednesday on Thursday) can help someone. :)
