Talk to me

Talk to me about homeschooling through high school. Talk to me about sending high school kids out to school instead.

Talk to me about socialization for high schoolers. (Yes, I know, I know.) We're thinking more about socialization AFTER school than during - like clubs, drama, marching band, etc. About discovering and developing talents, bouncing ideas off peers (or simply like-minded individuals). Feeling part of a group, stepping outside the family unit.

Most homeschoolers in our general area send their kids to high school from what I can tell, but if we're willing to drive 40-60 minutes away there seem to be more options. None of the local PS or Catholic schools allow hs students to come in for after school activities.

FWIW our thoughts run towards thinking our only options, should we choose school, are Catholic all-girls schools. Some more "traditional" Catholic than others. If those aren't an option for us for whatever reason, we'd homeschool (or of course we may just choose to homeschool anyway). I'm saying "we" and "our," but really these are dh's questions. ;-)

I'll be listening while you comment, then bring up comments into a new post to discuss.

Have at it. :)
