We were reading in our Landmark History of the American People this afternoon, about Elijah Parish Lovejoy who was a Presbyterian minister:

"Lovejoy was a fanatic. He was against lots of things - including alcoholic drinks, the Catholic Church, and slavery."

"I thought he was a Christian," my wise daughter said.
