Weekbook ~ 3rd Week of August

Highlights of the week: getting new shoes for older girls, roller skates for Rose (she's starting a class soon) , tomato "selling" day

Hight point: Rose started learning long division *without* a tantrum, even though she was frustrated

Low point: friend's dog scratching Jeffrey (he's fine, I'm still mad)

Needs work: straightening the house

Projects: My Personal Rule of Six, finishing up our summer reading challenge, purging closets

Discussion: slave trade, William Wilberforce, was it coincidence that Jonah and Jesus were both "entombed" for 3 days?

Milestone or Progress: Jeffrey's waving!

Focus, Theme, or Atmosphere: I *really* want to have some kind of mental focus/theme. Well, maybe this week's was "let's celebrate the last week before everyone else goes back to school" because the kids played with friends twice and spent more time than usual outside. But that was unintentional. I want to be *intentional*.

Independent interests: the "free tomato" table for the girls

Spiritual: story of Jonah, 54 day rosary novena for me (although I'm often trying to finish up the previous day's rosary at 2 AM while nursing), we also watched One Night With the King which is a movie about the story of Esther from the Old Testament

Nature/Outdoors: girls created a "free tomatoes" table to help spread the wealth ;-) , general outside time in refreshingly nice weather

Literary: read aloud - William Wilberforce

Artistic/Creative: I took pants that Skye just outgrew and turned them into pants that fit Jane (3 sizes smaller) - no small feat for me! LOL Also made a clothespin holder from an old shirt like this one.

Scientific: hmmmm...

Historical: history of slave trade in England

Musical: general interests, various classical stuff

Beauty: we might get some new furniture this weekend (the side ripped off our couch that has seen better days anyway)

Life Skill or Work: ??? I really want/need to figure out something here

Thoughts and plans for next week: couch shopping, going to nursery for fall seeds (lettuce, broccoli, ??)

A Photo Memory: (for Jenn, I found the crocheted food pictures! :) )
