math mnemonics

OK, I can type that title, but I can't seem to say it outloud!  Math menomic. Math nemomic.  It's like saying "Unique New York" 10 times fast.

Nevermind.

Looking through a book about ADHD I saw two mnemonics for things that I always mix up. The Associative Property and the Commutative Property:

COmmutative Property...CO allows a Change in Order of numbers  (i.e. 5+7= 7+5)

Associative Property of Addition ... AP  Arranges Parenthesis  {i.e.   (12+8) + 5 = 12 + (8+5)   }

I always knew that these were rules but I could never remember which was named which.

I need all the memory helps I can get these days!
