The difference between oblong and oval.
Harvest:
8 tomatoes, one even vine-ripened :) We did a blind taste test with dh, and he prefers the vine ripened over "windowsill" ripened.
Surprise of the day:
Baby birds in our birdhouse! Their delicate cheeping gave them away. So cute! They are typically either wrens or sparrows in that house, but I have not seen the current parents to figure it out this time.
Today's accomplishments:
-read today's Mass readings and discussed
-another chapter of Moccasin Trail
-TEA TIME! The girls suggested it and I said yes. This in itself is an accomplishment because tea time needed muffins to be baked, babies to be calmed and kept from hot beverages, preschoolers to be catered to. I rarely get to *enjoy* tea time - by the time I'm ready to sit, they're practically done.
-spelling for everyone: words from two different programs at the same time to two different girls while helping a third through math (she did spelling later)
-constant nursing
-1 load of Mt. Laundry
-all girls looked for things to give away to charity
Thursday Thoughts and Plans:
-I think I'm hitting the wall as far as decluttering goes. Our usual charity called us and I was able to get one bag together, but barely! In the past I would have bags (multiple) and boxes (multiple). Oh we still have a ton of stuff by the world's standards, but I'm having trouble paring down past the point we are at. I want to! I still yearn for Little House on the Prairie simplicity, but I just don't think that is going to happen in today's world (here in my little suburb). Thinking, thinking...
- Tomorrow is First Friday, can I make it to Mass without causing so much stress that I undo any Grace I would have received from going?
- Dawn's File Folder System. I love it. It makes so much sense to me. The thing that keeps stopping me from putting it together? I know the limitations of myself and the way our house is set up, and I will probably never use it. But I keep thinking about it. :)
Enough time spent here today, I'd better run. Happy Friday, everyone!
